Matthew J. Gould was born and raised in St. Louis County, Missouri and was a graduate of Saint Louis Priory High School in Creve Coeur, Missouri. He now resides in Herculaneum, Missouri. After graduating high school, he attended Saint Louis University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, with a Political Science minor in 2003.
Mr. Gould is a member of the Missouri Bar and a 2006 graduate of Creighton University School of Law. Mr. Gould received several Academic Honors in law school, including certificates of Academic Excellence for Post-Conviction Relief and Criminal Comparative Procedure. He also earned a specialization certification in Criminal Law and Procedure. While attending law school, Mr. Gould worked as a law clerk for the Pottawattamie County Attorney's Office in Council Bluffs, Iowa and also worked as a Senior Certified Practitioner for a legal clinic that serves the indigent.
In July of 2008, Mr. Gould accepted a position as Associate Attorney at The Rosener Law Firm. As an Associate, Mr. Gould focused his practice in the area of criminal defense at the state and municipal level. Between his time at The Rosener Law Firm, and now on his own, Mr. Gould has extensively handled several criminal matters including bond reduction hearings, warrant recall hearings, administrative alcohol hearings, refusal or "no blow" trials, driver license reinstatement hearings, probation violation hearings, preliminary hearings, pretrial depositions, plea negotiations and trials on various charges including but not limited to DWI offenses, drug offenses, sex offenses, stealing and property offenses.
In addition to criminal defense, Mr. Gould has experience in Mechanics Liens, Breach of Contract, Personal Injury and Divorce and other Family Law cases.
In December of 2009, Mr. Gould left The Rosener Law Firm, L.C. to start his own practice where he has continued to aggressively and persistently represent both criminal defendants and civil litigants to favorable outcomes. Upon his decision to move from his home office to a permanent office, Mr. Gould chose to remain in Jefferson County, Missouri by moving his practice to Hillsboro, Missouri.
